How much do you know about London??

Hello all,

Here is a link to a worksheet which contains lots of different exercises to do with London. There's a quiz, two or three reading exercises, some grammar-based stuff and even a 'London Underground' comprehension check! Some of you may have visited London before, in which case you might have a head-start, but I think that most of the things included in this 'webquest' will be new to you. Obviously, you don't have to do everything. Just choose the exercises you think are most beneficial to your learning needs.. (unless you're in the adolescentes class, in which case you must do what I tell you mwahhaha!!)

Reading Comprehension

Here is an article taken from The Guardian (a British newspaper) about tatoos. It is supposed to be for upper-intermediate level so it should be a challenge to most of you. Before you read the article, complete exercise one. After reading, complete exercise two.

At this point you should have already noticed that some of the words in the text are highlighted in bold. These are pronouns which are used instead of nouns or noun phrases. So, in the first one, for example, "So when did this start?", 'this' refers to Mark's tatoos. Your third task is to decide what these pronouns refer to.

Have fun with it!
